Alhun Aydın

Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences faculty member Alhun Aydın's paper, titled "Geometry-induced asymmetric level coupling," has been published in the American Physical Society's (APS) journal Physical Review E. The paper was selected as an "Editors' Suggestion" in the journal and highlighted as "well-constructed" and "field-advancing".

Alhun Aydın commented on his paper:

"I'm thrilled to share that my single-authored paper has been published in Physical Review E and highlighted as an Editor's Suggestion for its "field-advancing" qualities. In this work, I examine size-invariant shape transformations and show that quantum shape effects can exist even in two-level systems. These transformations give rise to asymmetric level coupling, where the ground and excited states respond oppositely to shape changes, leading to consequences in quantum thermodynamics that have no classical analog."

Physical Review E, the journal of the American Physical Society (APS), It is among the most important publications in the field of statistical physics. APS editors select a small number of especially notable papers from each issue to feature as Editors’ Suggestions, recognizing their importance, quality, or potential impact.
